Who May Submit a Claim
A claim should be submitted by the business owner, an authorised representative, or another person who can reasonably demonstrate authority to manage the business listing.
This policy explains who may claim a business listing, how claims may be verified, and how SabahBusiness.com.my handles disputed, misleading or unauthorised claims.
A successful claim establishes or confirms an eligible person’s authority to manage a business listing. Claim approval does not require a paid subscription and does not automatically upgrade the listing to a paid plan.
A claim should be submitted by the business owner, an authorised representative, or another person who can reasonably demonstrate authority to manage the business listing.
Claimants must provide accurate information requested during the claim process. SabahBusiness.com.my may require sufficient details to identify the claimant, the business and the claimant’s relationship to the business.
SabahBusiness.com.my may verify a claim using reasonable methods, which may include business contact details, official records, domain or email information, supporting documents, direct confirmation or other appropriate checks.
If the information provided is insufficient or inconsistent, SabahBusiness.com.my may request additional evidence before approving a claim. Failure to provide reasonable verification may result in the claim remaining pending or being rejected.
Approval gives the eligible claimant access to manage supported listing information, subject to SabahBusiness policies, available account permissions and any applicable review requirements.
Approval confirms the claim status based on the checks completed at that time. It is not a guarantee, recommendation or endorsement of the business, its products, services, licensing, financial standing or future conduct.
Submitting a claim using false information, impersonation, fabricated evidence or without proper authority is prohibited. SabahBusiness.com.my may reject, suspend or revoke such claims and may restrict related accounts or listings where reasonably necessary to protect the platform, businesses or users.
If more than one person claims authority over the same business, SabahBusiness.com.my may place the claim on hold, request additional evidence and review the matter before deciding which account, if any, should manage the listing.
If business ownership, management or authorised representation changes, SabahBusiness.com.my may request updated verification and may transfer, suspend or revoke existing claim access where appropriate.
SabahBusiness.com.my may display legitimate business information before a listing has been claimed. Unclaimed listings may be created from public or other legitimate sources, or submitted by authorised platform contributors, subject to review and applicable policies.
Claim approval does not transfer ownership of SabahBusiness.com.my, its software, directory structure, platform design or other proprietary platform materials. Rights in business-provided logos, photographs and other materials remain subject to their respective ownership and usage rights.
Claimed listings remain subject to Listing Guidelines and other applicable SabahBusiness policies. SabahBusiness.com.my may review, correct, restrict or remove information that is inaccurate, misleading, duplicated, unlawful or otherwise inconsistent with platform requirements.
Claim access may be suspended or revoked where there is evidence of fraud, impersonation, misuse, loss of authority, serious policy violations, unresolved ownership disputes or other circumstances that reasonably require further review.
Claim status and subscription plan are separate. A claimed business may remain on a free plan or choose an eligible paid plan. Purchasing a paid plan does not by itself prove ownership or guarantee approval of a disputed claim.
If you believe a business listing has been claimed by an unauthorised person, contact SabahBusiness.com.my through the official support or contact channel and provide sufficient details for review. Additional verification may be requested from the parties involved.
SabahBusiness.com.my may make reasonable administrative decisions regarding claim approval, rejection, suspension or reassignment based on the information available. Where appropriate, additional information may be considered if a decision is reviewed.
The claim process is intended to help legitimate business owners and authorised representatives manage their information while reducing impersonation, fraud and unauthorised control of listings. This policy may be updated as SabahBusiness.com.my develops its verification and account-management processes.
